Yes, the lowest number FreeCell deal that is unsolvable is #11982. (That is the only unsolvable deal in the "original" 32000.)

That said, #1941 is acknowledged as one of the hardest (if not the hardest) solvable FreeCell deal to win (of the first 32000).

You can find more than you probably want to know about this deal number at the FreeCell FAQ:
http://www.solitairelaboratory.com/fcfaq.html

I hope this helps.

Sorry to disagree Gregg, but 1941 must have taken me all of ten minutes. I'll admit it's my favourite game and the one I think I'm best at, but if you identify the opening moves correctly it is no big deal.

You are not disagreeing with me, you are disagreeing with Michael Keller (at the link above). :-)

Personally, I never had much of a problem with this deal number, either, but I have seen lots of posts indicating that others did not have as easy a time with it that we did.

Hi
checking through my outgoing emails I have helped over 20 people who could not win this game.
games 617 and 57148 are the only one where more people have asked me for help

Thanks Gregg. Perhaps Michael Keller is not as good as he thinks he is. Ha!
