Paul, I won with your # to Roosevelt a long time ago, but I went back to look at my statistics. There is a # (856026881) that gives you a couple of empty spaces right away in the game, but the highest score I can attain is 79. With that high a score you would think that the game is winnable, but I can't get it. Can you or Jax Ken win it?

Hi Folks
when I give a game number I always try to play on my test name to win and write the moves down in case anyone wants them but i played for 4 hours on 2046771584 to try to win it again without any luck
so it is not an easy game although down to 15 in the waste once and you must get the AS out very early to get the 2S out the first card in the pack

Jax Ken, Try 1153299200 and 613984257 for Roosevelt also. They seem like they should be easy to win, but can't get them either.

I think you have won 2 out of those 3. I would say good luck on the third one, but obviously you don't need it.

Paul have been working with the formula that you sent me for the OUTBACK game #1515648128 and I did pretty good till I got to the last out deal ac,ac out. Moved a few more cards but I didn't win the game I need a few more moves. However....................I did get a higher score this time........went from 65 to 85..........
Can you send me the last few moves? I am feeling better with this game than when I started.
Thanks to you. *sigh*

Hi Ken,
That sounds more like a hobby than a greeting!
Roosevelt 613984257. Aces in this order.Hearts, Spades column 2, Spades column 3.
I did not release the ace of clubs until Score 12, Stock 62, Waste 8.

Have you still not succumbed to the Black Death? 75 million people did, so your chances are slim.

Hi Jane,
You've got a talent for finding very difficult Eight Off games. I agree that this one looks winnable, but that's not the same as saying it is. My best score was four I think. I'm posting an effort that was very very close to the breakthrough. With just one empty cell, the 6 & 7 of diamonds would have moved, followed by 10 and 9 of clubs and the jack of diamonds. Then seven low clubs would have been playable onto the foundations. Try tinkering around those lines. I'll get back to it later.

How to use solutions that players have posted to the forum.
Left click on the game number and file will open. In this instance you will see ../18/Eight_Off _The_End_1811241215-3136.unk in the address bar.
Highlight all of it and right click and select "copy".
Stay online but you can close the forum. Go to your desktop and open your PGS. Locate Eight Off and click to open that. Once you are in Eight Off, look up to the top left of the screen and click where it says "Game". A menu will drop down and you left click on "Open game". A window will open and you will see the cursor flashing in the box called "File name". Right click in this box and paste the long file name into it. Then click on "open" and the online game will run in your PC.
You can then save it to your hard-drive by going back to the top left and clicking Game, followed by "save as".

I thought you had already downloaded a game, but if you see my post (nine messages above this) you'll see how to do it.
For the most recent game you will see

Just in case you don't understand what Richard means, I'll write the win down the way I always do:

4H-2C-4C-7C-5D-5H-4H-5C-9D-KD-QD-JD-5C-4C-2S-2D-10 H-4D-KC-KC-7H-QC-K+QC-JH-QS-10H-9H-K+QS-6S-4H-5H-6 H-8D and from here it's easy to win.

I wish that more people were active here, because if it wasn't for Ken Millar, myself and quite recently Mike Butler, there would be practically no traffic whatsover, and there would be little point in its existance.
It's so unlike the fair secks to have nothing to say, so wakey, wakey girls. (secks=banned word in forum).

Hi Richard,
Maybe the reason there is not more traffic in the forum is the different way that people play.
For example you,Ken and Mike like to play a game
until you win, whereas I and maybe many other people play for relaxation and winning is not so important.Although it is good when a game works out.

Hi Trisha,
Some of us have played and won all but a handful of the games available. It's purely accidental that Ken and myself have settled down amongst Triple Interchange games in particular. He posted one that was giving him problems, I solved it, and we continued posting them. Now it's got to the stage with Triple Interchange that we are actively looking for the ones that appear to be impossible to win. We both get a great buzz when we manage it. We play them because we enjoy playing them, and winning is just the icing on the cake. The banter that passes between us is also good fun.
I tend to jump around between a considerable number of different games, and my current favourite changes quite frequently. I'm sure that Ken and Mike are doing likewise.
The result of being extremely ill for years means that I am not fit to do many things that I used to, and now spend a great deal of my time playing PGS. My favourite game at the moment is Elba and I sometimes spend several hours (not consecutively) playing a game number until either it cracks, or I do. This gives me a great deal of satisfaction, but would certainly not suit everyone.
Thanks for taking the time to air your views.
Richard X (and then there were three).

Hi Trisha. I have played a lot of the solitaire games in PGS. My bad stats are there for all to see. It is only recently that I have started posting regularly even though I have played PGS for a long time. Mostly because of the friendliness of the lads, Ken and Richard. I am not as up to some of the challenges of some of the games they work on as I get easily frustrated. But I keep trying.

Hey Richard,

I am still here. I am not nearly as vociferous as you are but I play daily and have for 10 years. I have only been posting and saving scores for 5 or so. I just got my 7000th win BTW not much in comparison to many who have won that many of one game. The most I have won of any game is a little over 1000. I do like your challenges and I try to solve postings in is it winnable games. I may not always answer unless I have something to say. I also look at the post almost daily. I have like the other Ken have seen many posters come and go. Many are greatly missed like Paul. Know one knows what may be happening in RL sitituatios.

Keep it up I will be watching out there!!!!

Hi Mike and Richard,
I have been playing PGS for about 2 years now.The game I play most is Eighty Thieves. No wins yet.I know about all the tricks to use but I still have had no luck.I have played about half the games but I don`t think I will ever play all of them.I also like to play Triple Scorpion,Mrs Mop,Wave Motion,Spider and Forty Devils.

Hi Sir Ken, It's always nice to hear from you, and I appreciate that unlike some (eg me) you invariable curtail your posts to those of importance and/or relevance. I just fill in between times having a laugh. You can also rely on me to post some challenging games for addicts like yourself. I've absolutely no idea how many games of PGS I've played in the last decade or so, or how many wins I've had in any of them. I nuke my records now and again and start all over. I rarely post any stats except if it's something that I consider myself to be particularly good at. Elba has just fallen into that category. It's nice to know that you are watching what's going on, and I hope that Paul is doing so too.

To Trisha, Glad that you're enjoying PGS, and somewhat surprised re your preference for Eighty Thieves. Hardly a soft option!!! Given a few more years, I expect that you'll at least try every game on offer, and probably win your share too. All that matters is that you're having fun. Take my advice and pay no attention to anyone's stats. I destroy mine all the time by searching for difficult games, and I'm still perfectly happy, (although not perfectly sane?).
Be good.

Sir Ken (How do I get knighted by Richard?), I'm duly impressed by your 7000 wins. I play frequently, and I only have 2700 wins so far. I, too, also miss some past posters. Remember Frank D'Urso? He was a nice guy that would post all the time. What is the game that you've won 1000 times? Ken (the un-knighted one)

To The Black Knight, I'm very impressed by your 7000 wins, and I admire your perseverance to win 1000 games of anything. My stats are currently showing about 2000 wins, but I often wipe stats for games to set myslf new targets, so an accurate figure is not possible. I sincerely doubt if it's close to yours though. I can spend a very long time just winning a single number. Elba 1023179904 appears as the only game I played yesterday. I was at it for hours and hours. My latest goal is to win 100 consecutive Elbas that have been selected by the randomiser. It came very close to going down in flames a few times, but has now reached 64. A loser shows up online but I did win that game too. I just hit "New Game" instead of "Redeal". I wish those buttons were at opposite ends.
