Hi Richard,
Was able to win 1848783359, got 39 with 1092242560, 40 with 1966436479. The rest came out the same. I'll now go back to 2142861567 to see how you did it.

Hi Richard,
for game 2142861567, I don't see how you got past the 10 and 9 of clubs in the free cells. I was able to clear the center row of the three with hidden cards, but was blocked in the other two with an 8 of clubs on the left and the 6 of hearts on the right. Neither the jack of clubs nor the 7 of hearts are revealed in the center row.

Hi Jeff, Was just about to tell you that my "copy and paste" technique meant that I was inserting a space before the numbers. I won 214386156 the final 7 being omitted.

Well Jeff I have to admit that you know your game.
I'm pretty certain that all the games you listed (with the exception of 1848783359)are unwinnable.
Why don't you try and reach 50 without a loss? Use your second identity. A tall order I'll admit, but I'm going to give it a try.
Try 726792704. I won it but I found it difficult.

Tried 726792704. Wasn't too bad, once I got the two free cells opened.

Hi Mike, Richard,
I did some calculations. Assuming an 90% probability of winability per game, to win 50 in a row is 0.9 to the 50th power, or about one chance in 200. If the probability is only 80%, it's one chance in 70,000. So such a quest is doomed. Now, you have a 12% of winning 20 in a row--why not try for that?

This is why I questioned the posted scores to begin with.

Hi Jeff, Your case revolves entirely around an assumed degree of difficulty. The winnable percentage is open to debate. I'm encouraged by Becky Rae's 94.2% win rate for How They Run. It's a pity we couldn't ask her what her best consecutive win series was. I am further encouraged by the recent scores that Ken Blackwell and myself posted for Elba. I'm delighted that Ken picked up the gauntlet and set off in pursuit of me, otherwise I would have stuck out like a sore thumb as a monumental cheat.
Let's see is we can get well into the 20's with H.T.R. first, then who knows how far we can kick it.

To Mike, What's with the diversification? Are we abandoning Mr.Miller to play Triple Interchange all on his own? He'll maybe go back to France if we ignore him, and that wouldn't do at all. See if you can find a rancid TI for us.

Only Richard can play multiple games at once. :-) He has 5 computers and has a different game running on each one. Ok one more game of HTR then back to TI.

If the "true" winability is 94.2%, then you have a 5% chance of winning 50 in a row.

Mr Machen, Don't worry about me. I'm not playing too much TI. Now that I'm back at work, I'm just daydreaming about buying a country home in France, and taking long bike rides on the weekends. (Maybe I could be Johnny Depp's neighbor!)

Mike, I posted back on the Triple Interchange thread on May 30th what I did on my vacation. Any other questions, let me know, and I'll be happy to answer them. Ken

Hi Mike,
If you post your email address I'm sure we'd manage to send you a few lines. Maybe a few pics too. Can't keep abusing Thomas's hospitality indefinitely. Perhaps if you emailed him he's email us with your details. That way it wouldn't appear in the forum.
Incidentally, multi-task as much as you want. I'm takling PGM at the same time as everything else. Never see you in there guys.
Hi Ken,
Perhaps you could clean Jonny Depp's pool. The rest surely is just just a dream too far, but we all do it.
Hi Jeff,
Now 5% does sound a bit tasty eh? I'm sure we can handle that!

Hi Jeff, My best consecutive winning run has ended yet again. Have yet to exceed the dizzy heights of 17. It may take some time to reach 25, far less 50!!!

Hi Richard,
If the 95% win-rate is near correct, on average you should have to play 20 50-game series to reach one where you win all 50. That means 1000 games.

But maybe you'll be lucky, and do it in 500 games. Have fun!

This makes me wonder if solitare players like losing causes, because for them hope springs eternal. I put a post on this under General.

Hi Jeff, People used to think it was humanly impossible to run a four minute mile. Then a few solitaire players got wind of it, and the rest is history. Remember that I made the decision to use your strict criteria, so at least I'VE got someone to blame. I agree that the people above you in the stats must have been cherry picking, but that's their porogative.
I've still not got past 17 but consistantly get into the teens. It's keeping me amused anyway.

Here's a frustrating can't-win How They Run. The best score I could get on it is 37. Can someone do better?

Can't see how it's possible to beat 37 either Jeff. Need to get 2 empty cells to crack the low clubs, or to get the 4S and 2C off the KC.

Yes Jeff, It took me two attempts. The crux of the game is not to put the ace of spades on the two. Good game.
