Didn't you tell me not to bother? Something about directing my "talents" elsewhere. Was Josephine not mentioned too? I'm going to have to tell your mother to keep an eye on you.
I scored 58 with #12 the last time I played it. I'll have a few more goes but it's not looking good.

I guess it doesn't help when we're trying to be cryptic. I said don't bother with the 40 Thieves #'s but I am curious how my PGS idol didn't get Josephine #7 and it only took me 4 1/2 minutes. Distracted by the new cooker?

Apologies re #12. Apparently it says 11. Hope you got that one. These are my new glasses too. Chronic waste of money.
I keep making life difficult for myself in Josephine by using Forty Thieves rules. Incidentally any game you've won in the latter must be winnable in Josephine as they are exactly the same games. That wasn't a great programming decision I don't think.

"Nice and quiet" eh? There's a rumour going round that your neighbours are going to put their houses on the market? How are you getting on with your new Christmas present?
I have been playing Solitaire. I happen to be the 1 in 101. I'm beginning to think I'm the only one, the solitary one.

My neighbors love me. Why would they want to move. I have lost interest in my present. I can't make it sound the way I want it to. My voice is a little tired. And it won't fix it. Trisha and I have been having a fun time playing Eight Off. I went back and restarted Josephine since you and Ken were talking about it so much. But I am stuck on number 1. It seems solvable but I can't get it. And I gave up on Thieves. Or at least I still haven't figured out the one you tried to help me with. And with all the Christmas stuff I have had to do I don't have that much time.

I didn't manage to solve #1 either Mike, nor did Ken. I'd be interested to see how far you've progressed with it if you think it's solvable. Ironically I'm stuck on #17 which I know IS winnable. I won it before but can't figure out how I managed it.
Your singing voice is very good, remarkably so, given your age. Persevere with your presnt. Rome wasn't built in a day.
Forty Thieves is exactly the same as Josephine. The games are identical but just use different rules.
Eight Off is a good game. I'd like to hear about any that you or Trisha fail to win.

Trisha is to good. I will probably miss one first. Is she hiding just over the border from you. At least I know I can skip #1 in Thieves. It just looked like it had potential. But if you and Ken didn't get it there is no reason to think I will. It has just been so crazy around here I can't get the quiet I need to record. Plus the dogs are always trying to find ways to get the Christmas decorations. And we have a lot of them. Both dogs and decorations.

I really need to study the geography of Britain and Scotland more closely. It's really not about the time. It's solving those hands. The way the scoring system is set up. I am ahead of Richard in one game. He has not lost a hand. I have lost a bunch. But I played my hands faster. I lose very quickly. Go figure.

I feel your pain Ken! My mother has been acting up since Christmas and has been in hospital for three days now. We've been running back and forward to Aberdeen several times a week. She suggested that Liz pack in her job and become her full time carer. Liz then suggested to me today that it may be a better idea if I moved into my mother's house for three days a week to do cooking and things for her. She'd have me up the wall in no time flat, and no computer and PGS to retreat into. I find communicating with deaf people particularly frustrating. They always seem to think that they are just a wee bit deaf. Huh! It's your fault because you don't speak clearly enough etc. I expect you're getting much the same. If it wasn't for Goodsol I'd be seeing a shrink.

I've played it several times and my scores range from 50 to 54. There is a whole patch of diamonds that appears in the stock just a couple of cards too early to take advantage of them. I'll work at it some more and see if inspiration dawns.
I burst out laughing when I saw the time clock. It's as if you were banged up in the State Pen. awaiting your freedom. Ironically Liz and I have been into Aberdeen to see mine every day for over two weeks. This is likely to continue. The doctors will not be breaking the bad news to her until tomorrow. Palliative care is all that they have left to offer.

I have Josephine 138 in my stats as a win, so it is winnable.

Trisha, Do you mind saying how many games you won out of 150 games played? Out of 200 games played? (Just trying to see what to shoot for.) Thanks, Ken

Ken,I do remember that my averages were between 46 and 47 per cent for a long time. So I would think that out of 150 games played I would have won about 70 games, and about 92 out of 200.

Thanks, Trisha. I guess the only way you could do it would be to count the "smiley faces" (wins), and that would be pretty tedious. I'm averaging 46% myself. (You must have hit a winning streak lately, though, since you're now over 48%. Good job!)

Am I missing something? (There is an opening too good to miss).(ATBSTTA). Your stats in 101 can tell you how many you've won out of the total played. Trisha could tell you that, but asking for an analysis at 200 games when she's way over that WOULD entail counting the smiley faces. She'd not have a smiley face after that exercise though. Attached is where I gave up on Josephine. I will probably get back together with her at some point. (Don't tell Liz).

How many days left of your sentence now Ken?
I would like to hear of any LOSING games anyone has had after #100 say. The forum is pretty dead so I'm not getting my fix.

That's the one I saw too. I was just concerned about downloading the collection. Guess I will go ahead and do it. Since you are in the country of origin. Where do you think the term/yell of "Fore" came from. Some Celtic word meaning "I am going for your head". Or "DUCK!".

Had it originated in Ireland I may have hazarded a guess at Fore Folks Sake Look Out. However I believe it refers to a fore-caddy who was sent out in front to spot where the ball landed. Doesn't sound like a great career choice.

No joy with either of them Ken. Typical though, I've been twiddling my thumbs for days looking for a game to tackle, and the minute I get a couple "we" decided to do the garden.

Have matched it Ken, but not exceeded it. I'm trying to get a 9S into play, or at least I should say I WAS trying to. Looks like we're gardening again! I'll get back to it later, but maybe we've already topped it out.

I've had a few more goes at it Ken. Most of them were far lower than 52 due to trying different things. I doubt if it's winnable though.
