PGS backgrounds...We discussed this somewhere before and Paul explained how he had changed some of his. I did likewise. A possible problem has occured to me.
If I cahnge the background to one of my own photos and then save a game, would there be a problem if I uploaded this solution and other players opened it?

Very simple. Try it. Upload one and the same game with the original background and with your individual background. (Maybe ST in 101 (than i can control it).)

Yes I could have done that Markus. I suspect that their computers would just load their own default backgrounds but I'd rather not risk messing up someone else's PC until I know the answer. I'll err on the side of caution.

I thought you has already done that. And that's why my computer imploded. Seriously. I think you already psoted a solve with one of your backgrounds and everything was fine. Post one and call it "MikePrivate" and I will see. You really should change that to "MikeLowerThanPrivate". That's what I go by here at home. :-)

I can't recall that Mike. I know I've done it with screenshots. I'll see if I can find or create one for you. I'll stick it in this section soonish.

I think, when you save a game, they will save your card moves but not the background. That means, that when someone opens your game, they put the card moves to the background the other have.
It makes not sense, when saving the game to save also the background.

OK Mike. You asked for it. Please let me know what happens.
I'll do one for 101 if this works in PGS.
application/octet-streamExperiment. Risk involved.

I know the answer now. As I suspected, your computer will just load the background you have selected in your own PC. I uploaded the file with a photo background and then went back into PGS and changed the background to a single colour. When I downloaded my own file it showed up as the single colour.

Richard, i changed on my Mac the background for ST, that means, it shows not the normal one. When i opened a game from you, nothing happens, it opens properly with my background.

Markus. I just had a thought. Yes I have one now and then. If you have any questions regarding English let us know. I will post my email address and you can then send me the question. if I do not have an answer I think Richard will help. I am certainly not an authority on the English language. But I speak American rather well.

As far as the correct usage of words and their use in sentences. Don't get me wrong. As we have said before. You do very well. I speak only one language. Although I can ask where the bathroom is in several languages. And ask for the check in a couple. My question was just to see if you might want some help. Not here on the board but by email. And Richard I can do a few things without asking permission. Not many but some.

Mike, the problem is, i don't know, if a word i am using, is wrongly used. Maybe just make a mark (?) in an answer as Richard one time did. (He said, that challenges is better than (or then?) experiences.)

And i thought, you could also tell something to drink in a few languages.

We appreciate your problem Markus but perhaps you would be hurt or offended if we corrected anything except bigger mistakes.
Do you use a translator like "Google"? It is quite good......sometimes!

Good, but not perfect. I use a dictionary for words i don't know and sometimes a babelfish, also to find words. Otherwise i don't use a translator. I thought, that i can do it without one.

The top version is the better one Markus.
--------------------------------------
I thought, that i can do it without one.
"thought" is past tense. "can" is present tense.
"I thought that I could do it without one" is perfect.
-------------------
"I thought I'll clear without it" is understandable but not so good.
Again "thought" is past tense, and "I'll (I will) is future tense.
My personal translation of that sentence would be, "I thought I would be understood without it".
---------------------------------
As I have said before, we can work out (understand) what you are trying to tell us. If we don't, we can ask you to clarify it.
----------------------------------------
If you want my email address it is.....my first name.....dot.....my second name....the fancy "at" symbol....tiscali......dot.....co.....dot....UK
------------------------------
I can pass on Mike's one too if you/he want.

Just to confirm (a little bit late :-)), background pictures are never stored with the saved games; they are specific to the system (and player) and independent of the deal.

The only way your PGS background image is seen by others here is when you post a screenshot.
