New Pretty Good Solitaire User Created Card Sets

Two new user created card sets for Pretty Good Solitaire are now
available. The Houbigant Card Set features 19th century French images
on the cards. The Victorian Card Set features old English images from the
Victorian era. Both card sets were designed by Pretty Good Solitaire user
Sylvia Rindahl.

The card sets will work in Pretty Good Solitaire version 8 or higher,

Featured Game - Monte Carlo
---------------------------
Monte Carlo is a classic game of solitaire. At the start of the game, 25
cards are dealt in five rows of five. The rest of the cards form a stock.
To play, discard pairs of cards of the same rank (for example, two Jacks)
that are adjacent to each other, either horizontally, vertically, or
diagonally.
When all available pairs are discarded, clicking the fill button moves the
remaining cards up into the spaces and deals new cards to the empty
piles. When the cards are moved up, they are moved leftward in the
rows. If a card moves up a row, it moves to the right end of the row
above. This puts all of the empty spaces at the bottom of the layout.
These spaces are then filled by new cards from the stock.
The objective is to pair up all the cards and empty the layout.
Since the cards at the top of the layout will only move if you remove pairs
that are ahead of them, a good strategy is to start looking for pairs at the
top and work your way down. Pairs found at the bottom won't have as
much effect on the overall layout as pairs at the top.
An average player wins Monte Carlo only 40% of the time, but with best
play the game can be won most of the time.
Monte Carlo is one of the 640 games in Pretty Good Solitaire.
