French Help File for Pretty Good Solitaire

A Pretty Good Solitaire user has kindly translated the Pretty Good Solitaire help file into French. This French help file can be downloaded from

To use it, download the file, unzip it, and follow the instructions in the goodsol_french_readme.txt to place the French help file in the same folder as the game and rename it so that the game will find it (keeping a copy of the original English help file).

We have been busy lately working on a number of projects.
First, over the next few weeks we will be converting all of our web sites over to a new design. This needed redesign will really make our web sites look a lot better.
Second, there will be a new version of Pretty Good Solitaire this summer. We are also working on a complete rewrite of Pretty Good Solitaire that will allow us to add many new features that are currently impossible. The first step of this rewrite was our new product Most Popular Solitaire.
The next step will be coming soon where we will have a whole new framework on which to build games. There's already messages on our forum at http://www.goodsol.net/forum/messages/10/2036.html where people are putting in their requests for new features for the new solitaire engine.
It will still be awhile before the new engine is ready and there will continue to be new versions of Pretty Good Solitaire using the old system, but a whole new system will be coming in the future.
Featured Game - Mrs Mop
-----------------------
Mrs Mop is a Spider type solitaire game.
At the start of the game, all of the cards in 2 decks are dealt out to 13 tableau piles, 8 cards to a pile, all face up.
The object is to build a single foundation pile until all of the cards are in the pile. Cards are moved to the foundation pile in groups of 13 cards, a group down in suit from King to Ace. Once all 8 such groups are formed and moved to the single foundation pile, the game is won.
In the tableau, building is down regardless of suit. However, as in Spider, cards can only be moved in a group if they are in sequence down by suit. Therefore building in suit is preferred.
Creating open spaces is very important. Work on trying to create one or two sequences. Once the cards from a couple of sequences have been removed, it gets a lot easier to manipulate the cards the form more sequences.
Mrs Mop was invented by Charles Jewell, who also invented the game Rouge et Noir.
