Hi Ken,
I wasn't thinking straight yesterday re the file sizes of our games. Obviously the only way you can compare the size is if you have the same number of cards left to play. Now, with one card left in the stock both Lucretia and the Black Death weigh in at 11.0. You'll easily see why I christened the latter game as you've seven columns choked with black cards.
Richard.

Richard, Since it's my birthday today, I knew you were going to get me something special. But the Black Death? You shouldn't have! I was just expecting something of the influenza variety. I'm 1/3 of the way there. My best score is 52.

The big black death, the big black death?

Influenza? Chicken Flu more like. If it's too much for you, just throw in the Kleenex. Ha!

I couldn't resist it. Here's your birthday present. Given your advancing decades I found one suitable.

Hi Ken,
I think it's time I helped you out a little with the TI nightmare game. If you disagree then read no further.

The Black Death 1551947136
Score 16 waste 57. (at end of 1st deal)
Lowest exposed cards in rows, KS, 4+3S, 8+7D, 5H+KH, 8C, K+Q+JH, 4+3S, 2D+K+Q+J+10S, K+Q+JC.

Score 34, Stock 10, Waste 28
Rows, K+QS, empty, KC+8+7C, 5H+KH, QH+5+4+3S, KH to 7H, 4+3S, 2D+KS to 7S. KC to 10C.
5+4+3S, all from column 5, into empty space. Then QH from column 5 onto KH.

There is a long way to go. The last ace came out at score 110, stock 9, waste 9.

I said previously that I thought that this was the daddy of them all. I expect you now agree.
Good luck.

F.A.O. Richard (or Foreign Addled Oldster),
Thanks for the tips. It only took me 8 hours to get it. Can you imagine how long it would have taken me if I didn't have your expertise??
Cheers!!!

Hi Ken,
May have taken Flaming Ages Otherwise by the sounds of it. Eight hours eh? It's all in a day's work. I'm uploading my solution for anyone else who's losing the will to live.
How are you doing with Roosevelt? Need a clue for it?

Filing Another Opportunity for you to shine.
Hi Ken,
I'm beginning to realise how hard it is to find fresh games that prove a problem to solve. This is the best I've come up with since The Black Death.
It's not a heavyweight contender at just 9.0, but I think it will give you a bruise or two before it throws in the towel. It's aptly named (at least the way I played it).
Triple Interchange_ The Scorpion_1164035584.
Also try Triple Interchange_The Cardsharp_2010919295 (who keeps some aces up his sleeve).
Neither game is too demanding.
Have fun.

Richard, who said, "With great power, comes great responsibility". (Superman?) I wasn't so worried about HAVING to solve a game or worrying about my stats when I was a Fairly Average Operator!

"With great power, comes great responsibility" was attributed to another PGS devotee; Spiderman!
I prefer:-
"Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely". (Lord Acton).
Another of his pearls is :- "A wise person does at once, what a fool does at last. Both do the same thing; only at different times".

Frequently alas I sometimes fall into both categories.

RM, Enjoyed TI #1164035584. Just enough challenge so that my brain wouldn't atrophy, but not enough to make it explode (see: The Black death). KM

Hi Ken,
Glad you enjoyed that one. There's no point in turning this into a masochist's convention. I doubt if we'll encounter many as bad as the B.D. It was definitely Super League.
These are good games and won't frustrate you by giving in tamely.

I have no more in reserve as I'm currently trying to re-win some games for Audrey. Will probably share the most troublesome of these with you later.

For other players (Paul, Jax Ken, etc. where are you?), it just means, don't make the obvious play.
(Still don't know the REAL meaning of F.A.O.?)

Hi Ken,
You must be joking surely! FAO is frequently used in communications and means For (the)Attention Of.
I like your explanation of the road less travelled. It would not have occurred to me.
George Bernard Shaw observed that Britain and USA were "Two Nations separated by a Common Language"
Could be, could be.
TTFN, to clear that up was a catchphrase that is short for TaTa For Now. Like me, very dated.

Hi Ken,
I've finished rewinning loads of games for Audrey, so now I need a new challenge. What game can we do battle with next? I don't want any that are mainly luck. Apart from that you have carte blanche.
Attaching a photo (hopefully). I know I shouldn't but I can't resist it. Won't be posting any more, so make the most of it.

Hi Ken,
Could you have a pop at TI 1551825664 and see if you can get a column clear? I may just be going round in the same old circles, and am hoping I've overlooked something.
Thanks,
Richard.

No mate. I've played it umpteen times and have no idea what scores I got. The game that is still open shows 47 as a score, and I doubt if I got anything much bigger. Has loser written all over it.

It looks as if you've crashed into the same brick wall as I have. I haven't been able to acces any of those, so it looks like all of the columns are blocked. Don't spend too long on it. I'm virtually certain it's a dead duck.

Richard, Are you back from holiday yet? The 5 TI #'s that you posted on February 14th, I won them all. But then I inadvertently put in TI #1950192255 and started playing it, and realized that I had already won it (and it was bitch of a one to win), and I can't re-win it. Can you post the solution so I can waste my time on something else? Thanks, Ken

The wanderer has returned and has put your game to the sword.
If you want something to waste your time on, start a new thread. This page brasses me off since my photo made it ultra wide.
Normal service will be resumed a.s.a.p. (Once I've caught up on my sleep and had a liver transplant).
