Yes Dave, your game is winnable. Don't want to ruin it completely for you, so here is a partial solution.

Hi Dave, Your new game number is far worse that the previous one. So far I've not even managed to clear a column. The main problem is that 6 of the 10 columns get kings dealt to them. Without an empty column the cards they are covering are effectively dead. Six columns also get aces dealt into them and only 4 twos come from the stock. This makes matters worse.
Have you ever cleared a column, and if so, which one? This is the only way that your game MAY be winnable. So far my money is firmly on unwinnable.

The best I can do so far re columns is with #9 and the final card that shows there is yet another king. Most of the gueens appear to have gone to an equal rights parade.

I did manage to clear column 3 (I think) once (that was days ago) and then, like you say, there are kings all over and nowhere to go..

Hi Dave, I had column three cleared before I read your message. In fact I've had 3 & 4 both clear at the same time, and have managed to get one set of the spades off the tableau. Then I hit another wall.
It's an extremely difficult and very interesting game. I now believe that it's winnable. Will do more work on it tonight.

Uploading my best effort to date. Two sets removed from tableau, but straight into another brick wall. See if you or anyone else can mess around with this and get any improvement.

Hi Dave, I've spent half the day on this game, but I've manage to slay the beast eventually. I don;t thing that Spider gets any harder than this one.

Richard, congrats on beating this one. I'm not going to look at your solution but will try to beat it myself.. I would like to know your opening moves before the first deal though. I have gotten the third column cleared after the final deal... geez... (after 600+ games I've only lost 4 and a couple were accidents.. haha)

Hi Dave, Glad to help. I got immense pleasure from winning this one. Initially I thought it was unwinnable, but I just kept plugging away trying this and that til I started to see a little progress. Once I get the scent, I'm pretty difficult to shake off.
I'm going to post a very early signpost for you. There is a massive amount to be done after that, but at least you'll know you're heading in the right direction. No need to consult it if you don't want to. Column 3 gets the works first, and the first cards removed were spades.
application/octet-stream... is paved with good intentions.

Incidentally Dave, would you mind posting the ones you lost? I'd like to mess with them.

Hey Richard,
I looked back at the ones I lost and there were actually 3 (one twice) and I think 2 of them were accidents hitting the "game", "new game" instead of "undo". I went back and played the three and won 2 of them in a short time. They are:
49000537 - Did that one in about 13 min plus coffee.
1828034816 - an hour.
519014241 - still messing with this one. No plays on the first deal.

Let me know!!

Thanks Dave. Got column 5 open with 10 left in the stock. Usually a good sign. Will get back to you.

Hey Richard,
I've done the same... and managed to keep it open on the last deal... but seems there's just too many cards missing to make it...

I now doubt if we can do anything with this one. The deals seemed to be severely restricted for choice each time. There was always a critical number missing in each, and the damage was done before the next deal compounded it. I may drift back to it now and then, but I'm virtually certain it's unwinnable.
