I thought that 1738 was a bit more difficult than Mike's 1152. Everything seemed to be going great and it was looking as if it would be a breeze. It's an interesting journey anyway even if you get on all the right buses straight away.

Thanks. It's nice for somebody else to get blamed for something. I guess I will also have to stop playing hands first thing in the morning.

No problem with 1724. You just clear column (?) I'll wait till Ken gets a chance at it to say. Then it's clear sailing from there. Ok, enough joking around. I did solve it. But it took a lot of time. I had to start and stop several times because of interruptions so I am not sure how long exactly. Went to the plant place to get some tomato plants. So all in all 2hrs tops.

Oh dear Mike, I think your nurse must be putting something in your coffee! 1154 was easier still. I'll email you my time. Don't want to embarrass you. You're not colour blind are you? Do you find it difficult to see your white stick if you drop in on grass?
Here's a brazil nut for you to try and crack. Stop messing about with your tomatoes and give it your undivided attention. I'd place 1723 in the XXX arena.

No, don't stop. If you found them tough, hopefully we will too. You've posted some real crackers before. I've yet to post one you can't solve, but 1723 and another one I found yesterday should test your metal. Perhaps you'll spot something I missed. That's what it's all about.

There IS a God!! Not that I was in any doubt anyway. I've finally found a TI that Mike can't solve. 1722 IS winnable. I think I should let you stew for a while longer. Wouldn't want to deprive you of the satisfaction of winning it yourself.
Ken, The metal I was talking about was brass. The same type you have in your neck. Let's IRON this out now. Both spellings are correct. Now get the LEAD out of your boots and "Help The Aged" with 1722.
Incidentally, do you think that one slap was sufficient for a certain person. Half of the equipment appears to have been left behind.

Ken, It doesn't seem long ago that you asked me if I'd managed to solve 1792 in the first deal, and I replied that I doubted if it was possible to win any TI in deal one. I was wrong. 1710 is winnable without turning the deck.

I will keep working on 1722 in about an hour and a half. I was just thinking about one of my previous about spelling. There are certain words that I consistantly mistype. Words like jsut, otu, paly, soem and several others. I am a lousy typist but is there something Freudian hidden there. Back to sleep now. Will be working on 1722 when I wake up.

I got it. It only took a few days. Even after clearing that stupid column I had a miserable time. You don't have to run down to the local golf course and get some clubs. But I really deserve a pat on my little head for getting this one. Don't know why it took me so long to see how to clear that column. Of course, the fact that I fall asleep while I am working on these things doesn't help much. Ken should pop his head up here at some point with an observation.

Hi Ken, You'd be wrong about my most played game, it's Forwards & Backwards. If you were to ask what my least favourite game is, it would be Forwards & Backwards. My favourites have varied quite a lot over the years, something like your waistline! I've played tens of thousands of quite a few games, but as I wipe my stats periodically and have also upgraded my PC's, I don't really know how much I've played of anything. As long as it is a game that involves skill and is not one of the easier types, I don't really care. My absolute favourite is the last "Is it winnable?" that another player has posted, particularly if I win it. Thanks for the Fair Lucy, I've saved it if anyone wants a solution.

It really wasn't important to me to post my most played games. Plus I am lazy and would have to go through all the games to remember what I played. Also, like Richard said. I have had to start over on my stats so many times because of new computers or crashes. And I play sometimes on the laptop so I have no idea.

Mike, FYI:

You can see your Most Played Games by clicking on Most Played in the left column on the main screen of the game. This will list all of the games you have played at least once in order, with the number of games you have played listed next to the game name.

No pain, just a little irritation. I am seeing a sort of ring in the left side of the eye. I am not sure if it is the new lens or just part of the small incision they made and it will go away. I will find out next week when I go for another check-up. Everything is much brighter now than before. I was almost blind in my left eye. Liz is much better to look at than Richard. Even though she doesn't appear much in the travel pictures. Usually it's just the Scotch Leprechaun.

"Just a little irritation" eh? Perhaps that's how I feel about "Scottish leprechaun". I thought I'd educated you better. Scotch = whisky, and leprechauns are Irish. Now if you'd called me a Scots Bogle I'd have had a little sympathy with your point of view (ring and all). When your vision improves you will be able to appreciate that Liz's looks come courtesy of a better photographer.

Ah! Now it's starting to make sense. Some of your cycle pals are females! I knew there had to be a reason why a man of your advancing years and waistline subjected himself to physical exercise. The open air, the views, the Lycra cycling shorts! No wonder you're always lagging behind. Do people think you've had yours lagged?
New England!!!! I'd better not tell her! I'll tell her you said Nova Scotia as two of her brothers are flying in your direction as we speak. You wouldn't want to get blood on your shorts.
And Mike, are you familiar with the proverb appertaining to the colour of grass?

I think the only proverb I am familiar with is one about a prodigal son. Not sure what the problem was there. Sounded like something to do with a generation gap. All I know about grass is that most of the time it is green and I find it a lot at the golf course. Most of the numbers I have been playing have been winnable. Except for some Unlimited numbers I tried on random.

You've got complaints eh Mike? This many?

The Geriatric Alphabet

A is for apple, B is for boat,
That used to be true, but now it won't float.
Age before beuaty is what we once said,
But let's be a bit more realistic instead.
A is arthritis,
B a bad back,
C is for chest pains, perhaps cardiac.
D is for dental decay and decline.
E is for eyesight, can't read the top line.
F is for fissures and fluid retention.
G is for gas which I'd rather not mention.
H is Hi blood pressure, I'd prefer it was low.
I is incisions the scars you can show.
J is for joints, out of socket, won't mend.
K is for knees that crack as you bend.
L is libido. What happened to secks?
M is for memory. I forget what comes next.
N is neuralgia in nerves way down low.
O is for osteo, bones that don't grow.
P is prescriptions. I have quite a few.
Just give me a pill and I'll be good as new.
Q is for queasy. Is it fatal or flu?
R is for reflux. One meal becomes two.
S is for sleepless nights counting my fears.
T is tinnitus the bells in my ears.
U is for urinary, big troubles with flow.
V is for vertigo. That's dizzy you know?
W is for worry. NOW what's going round?
X is for X-ray and what may be found.
Y is another year that I've left behind.
Z is for zest I still have in my mind.
I've survived all the symptoms my body's deployed,
And I'm keeping ten doctors and nurses employed.
So Mike just consider all that I've said
And just count your blessings, at least you're not dead.

There has never been a problem with it Maria. We are working our way through the first three thousand games and have only found about 5 that are unwinnable. Occasionally we find a real stinker which may keep our combined grey matter fully occupied for hours, but most of the games we come across are relatively easy. We are actively looking for the worst ones.

Most of the time it is pretty easy. Not like some of the real easy games, but it's got it's bite. We are just having some fun looking for the impossible and really difficult ones. And believe me there are some. The main thing for me is that we (meaning Richard) can figure out if they are indeed solvable within a reasonable amount of time. I hate spending days on a hand that has no chance. Make that minutes. ;)

Agreed Mike. Good one. I decided to time it, and was doing quite well when my PC decided to shut down to install updates. Not as much as a by your leave. It didn't even save the game, so I'd to start again from scratch. Now I've no idea how long it took. I was constanlty given choices of moves which can make for a very tricky game.

Hi Ken, Looks like a collection for a wreath was premature. Ha! We thought you'd been abducted by aliens.
Vista parks saved games in a hidden folder which isn't easy to locate. I forget where anyway. No matter.
Save a game and give it a unique name "dracula" for example. Now do a search for that. It will just locate a "shortcut" for it. Then right click and ask it to open the file location. When it gives you the result for that, right click on that one too and ask for that file location. Then you'll get to the "missing shortcut" box and click on "fix it". Now you'll be able to see the full path.
All a pain in the derriere, so this is what I now do. Save the same and then go back up to "open game". At this point just drag and drop it across into documents. PGS will run it from there OK and it will work if you upload it too.

Yes, ANOTHER holiday. I wasted many many years without one, so I'll never catch up. I've been researching castles etc and have just catalogued over 250 that I want to find and photograph. A great number of people all over the world are trying to trace their ancestry and I'd no idea that so many clan societies existed on your side of the pond. This way some of them will get to see things that they'd never see in person. It's not everybody's cup of tea, but it's fun trying to locate them and there is always marvellous scenery everywhere we go. There may be the odd pub too.

Some people don't realise how traumatic it is to lose a cherished pet, particularly one that you interact with on a daily basis. It's almost like your best friend who's died. I was absolutely wrecked when our pet monkey died. (No jokes please).

17yrs. That's a long time. You took very good care of your Dachshund. We only had Snooky for nine. She had two knee operations and a run in with cancer. We think that the cancer came back suddenly and just wiped out her immune system. Richard is getting to tricky for me. I had to think for minute about the "Pharoah" joke. I thought the Germans and the Russians claimed the invention of lots of things.

It wasn't easy, but it wasn't difficult, either (unlike 60 Thieves #109)

Perhaps if I replayed it without a monologue in my ear I might agree. Surely you've got 109 sorted out now. I actually won it at the first run through. It was part of my now abandoned quest to see how many consecutive numbers I could win. I added the restriction that a game was considered lost if I reached the end of the stock. No backtracking from there. What was I thinking about? I packed it in after 10 games.

I just attempted it again, and it took me 5 minutes. A fresh perspective was definitely needed. How about giving me one on 60 Thieves #101?

32 minutes for the pair. 1366 was the tough one.
Your mind has gone eh Mike? On holiday? Don't worry, your wife likes to do the thinking for you. Did you see what I added under the comment you left about a golf shot? In Blairs album. Fame at last!

At least I found a couple that gave you a small challenge. I'll have you know I have three holes-in-one. That island would be no problem. Michael just bought a new rifle. I could use it instead of the machine gun. Seriously. I will repeat myself. You and Liz did a great job on that album. I know how hard it is to type in all that commentary. Collecting the facts is hard enough. Well done.

25 mins to get the last column clear, then 7 more to finish it.
I was very pleased with the finished Blairs album. As you observed, a lot of work goes into these things. I spent a lot of time just correcting horizons and cropping the sneaky ones. All the info comes from the official guidebooks but I've still got to read them and select and abridge the more important bits. Anyway, I was well pleased, despite one person asking where the castle is!!!! and another expressing surprise that they allowed us to take photos inside!!!! I kept a civil tongue in my head when I replied. Must be getting old.

I should get some credit for hinting how to get pictures in places where there is not suppose to be picture taking. It worked for me in Washington DC. I was surprised at the comment about where the Castle was myself. But that's going to happen. Sometimes we just don't pay attention. But all in all you got some good comments. Mine was the best though. On #1369. As usual you saw the problem in that hand well before I did. It took me some time to figure it out.

Yu're welcome to ALL of the credit/blame for the sneaky shots. My lawyer will be pleased. It's made it worthwhile going into some of these places.
Re 1369, it's not a race. You alerted me to the dangers and I did a lot of immediate back peddling when I uncovered a tableau card that I'd previously accepted from the stock.

What are guys talking about? 1369 was EASY!! And the fact that Richard posted what column to clear first had nothing to do with it! (And if you believe that, you believe that Tony Blair is the PM of England.)

P.S. We don't need an "always winnable" option when we have Sir Richard.

All I know is it took me several tries to figure out how to get that column cleared. In regards to the pictures. One has to remember not to let the built in flash go off if your camera has one. That might be a tip off. But of course Richard could get away with it. He would just smile and be very polite. And explain how his camera was malfunctioning. Staying calm all the time.

I'd tell them the batteries have conked out because the lens won't even go in. I can press away at the button and nothing whatsoever appears to be going on. No LCD lights, no noise, nothing! Sneaky bunch those Japanese. No need to look or sound calm. Highly irritated or totally brassed off would carry the day. Devious bunch those Scots.

Well, it can't be an anagram since there are the same letters in "bear" as there are in "bare", so why the typo? My guess is when I think of "bare", I think of "bare-a$$". So, are you trying to tell us what an a$$ you are? Because if you are--no need--we already know!!!!!!
