This stinker has been hanging around my desktop for longer than I can remember. I just wonder if I should submit the score and give it up. I hate to if it is winnable???

It was Trisha who posted it actually. Just paste 1817442871 into the search engine up at the top right of this screen and it will locate it for you Carolyn.

Please post your other tricky numbers here and I'm sure someone will be able to help you. The regulars just click on "Last day" or "Last week" at the bottom left of this screen to see what new posts there may have been. You don't really need a seperate page for each of them unless you particularly want to.

Yes. It was Trisha. I should have been more attentive.

Neighbour/Neighbor? Colour/Color? Seperate/Separate? I'll never figure out the Scottish spellings!

You're very persistant with 1817442871 Carolyn. I've located the solution Trisha posted ages ago and transferred it here.
I've solved one of the others and will see if I can do anything with the remaining two.

Here are more stinkers. The first two I am sure are dead ducks... but I would like an expert opinion? The others are new battles. I get new resolve on these when I learn that they are solvable. Thanks also for the help on how to post on here. This is the only site I have ever done it on so it was very helpful

That's a very bad bunch Carolyn. I'll work on them some more later today. (It's 00.35 here). I'm pretty certain that the top two are unwinnable. The other two look doubtful too.

I've cracked 1817443081 Carolyn. I'm beginning to wonder if you know how to use the solutions that people have uploaded for you. It will make life a lot easier if you take a few minutes to learn how it's done. It's really quite easy and even if you made a complete muck of it (which you won't) you can't mess anything up in your PC.

It looks like you have your unwon games on your desktop.Open 1817443081. The cards will be dealt out exactly where you left them. Now just ignore them altogether.
Look up to the top left of your screen and you'll see.....Game....Options....Internet....Help.
Click where it says "Game" and this will drop down.

Now click where it says "Open game" and a new window will appear. It will look something like this.(You won't see any Midshipman files though. That's only on my PC>).

Near the botton you'll see an empty box with "File name" written to it's left. You need to paste a link into it, and then click where it says "Open".
You must stay online. Now the game which I've uploaded will run on your PC. It may take a minute or two depending on your download speed.
The game will run to the spot where I left it.
Now you back up to the top left of your screen and click on "Game" again. This time you click on "Save as" on the menu that drops down. You now have your own copy of the game I uploaded.
Please see my next post.

This is the solution for your game Carolyn.

If you click on it it will open and you'll get a window like this.

Just ignore all the numers. The only bit we are interested in is up at the top. THIS.
../18/Eight_Off_1817443081_Carolyn_New-5339.unk
Just highlight it and copy it.

This is the link that you have to paste into the box where it said "File name". Every uploaded game has a different link. That's why I've shown you where to get them from.
Once you get the game to run on your PC you should save it before you hit automove or complete it yourself. Then any time you have Eight Off open on your PC you can go back up to the top left of your screen and click where it says "Game" and then select "Open" in the drop down menu. You just highlight whichever saved game you want to open.
I know this is a lot to take in in one fell swoop, but it is remarkably simple once you decide to give it a try. Anything you don't understand? Ask us please!
I'll see if I can win any of your other games now.

I forgot to tell you why you should save these games. Once you have your own copy of a game which someone else has posted, you can open it and click on undo repeatedly and see which moves that person made to win the game. You can undo and redo as often as you want.
