I've gotten a question by email as to whether Fifteen Puzzle #843943105 can be won. Can anybody win this one?

I've tried EVERY unwon game that's ever been posted Ken. Had another stab at this one today but I think my best score has been 32. Doubt if it's winnable.

Though you had that eye fixed Mike. Take a closer look. (It's the numbers racket).

I thought I knew what was going on. I need a nap. A long one. Is 843943105 solved or not?

No. Ken posted a solution for the wrong number, ie, 43943105. He missed the 9 at the front. It's an easy enough mistake to make when you copy and paste.

Thought you had that eye fixed Richard. Take a closer look. (Don't you mean he missed the 8 at the front?)

I was the one that was supposed to have the eye fixed. I thought KenB just made a mistake when he posted the file. And that he had indeed solved the correst one.

Both of you need a nap. You're giving me brain damage. I've been going to see about new glasses for over six months.

When did you start paying that much attention to us to give you brain damage. I'm the one that can't spell "Correct".

I was going to point that out to you, Mike, but I know how much you don't like to be corrested!

No Mike.... You can't spell correctLY. I seem to be having trouble with my aim. 3's instead of 4's, 8's instead of 9's. I blame inflation.

But it is possible I can be Corrupted. What is the building up the street from you with the red roof? I was guessing a school. But I don't see any parking spaces or play ground. That's back up the street going east.

Eh? What? Up the street? East? Red roof? What am I? A seagull? I may have my head in the clouds on occasion, but my feet are firmly on the ground, and I'd be hard pressed to tell you what colour next door's roof is. If you're talking about the map I emailed you Mike, the red circle would be the railway station. If you want to follow our exploits this is the full link. It's a wonderful high definition that I came across purely by chance. It's far better for my purposes than any other maps I've seen.

Never mind. I can't get that satellite view I was using back. Google has dropped the link I guess.

I contemplated installing Google Earth but this PC is behaving itself so well just now that I don't want to risk upsetting it. It's got a very sensitive disposition. I think it's called PCMT.

#5 is giving me serious problems. Is it really unwinnable?

I can't win it either. Too many duplicates at the start. They seriously restricts what you can and can't play.

Is #8 winnable? I can score again just 27 points.

How about #20. 32 points so far, but didn't go for maximum score. The 2s are blocking me always from winning it.

Markus,I used the two spaces for the Aces and Jacks. That worked quite quickly for me.

That's what i meant. I concentrated before on the 5s or others. After your post i then tried the Jacks and Aces and after that it was as you said easy. I don't know, why i didn't try them before.

How about #22. I can score 35 points and it looks winnable, but all i try no success.
