I do it again: #130 is unwinnable. Are more than 3 points possible ("I fear" (?) the answer. Especially, when it is 52.).

Should it really be unwinnable, winnable, unwinnable, ...
I have the feeling, #132 is winnable, but i can score 13 points with 3 or 4 different position and one cell less of winning. Is there a tricky move?

I agree with you Markus. Although I don't win as many as you do, I too win one and then lose one, etc. I like the game but at times it is frustrating.

A short summary for #154 to #165 (i had time to play about 25 minutes for all those games):

winnable: 154, 156, 159, 161, 164, 165
maybe winnable: 155 (13), 157 (12), 163 (10)
unwinnable: 158 (6), 160 (1), 162 (4)

The maximum scores could still increase. Let's see today evening.

unwinnable: 158 (6), 160 (5), 162 (6)
winnable: 154, 156, 159, 161, 164, 165 (Me too).
I can = your score with one "Maybe winnable", but beat it with the other two.

Richard you have thrown your towel with #155 by 52 points.

I cannot believe, that #157 is really unwinnable? I can score 12 points in two different ways, but i think, it must be winnable.

(I am interested about your 7 points with #191.)

P.s.: When 8 points with #197 is maximum and the others ARE winnable, then i give it after your answer about 30 minutes (maximum) (10 minutes maybe realtime).)

I remember those 7 with #191. I have had it the first time i played it today. I thought, it must be winnable, so i didn't write that score. After that, i didn't try any more this start, because it has a dead end.
I don't think, that more is possible. There are several positions with one cell less, but i couldn't find it. If (?) you don't find, then it will be interesting, if the computer (Larry) can solve it.

I did okay with the doctor today. She ordered a bunch of blood tests to make sure my anemia hadn't come back and my semi-annual cancer test just to keep tabs on it. The only thing she couldn't get over was the high dose of a tranquilizer I'm taking. But, she doesn't know how nervous I can get; it's not very pretty.

I know what i didn' t see all the time. It is definitely not a hard one, but you have to see, not to put the 4D onto the 5D but put the 5D up and move the 2H and the 3C. After that it is easy. How could we both missed this move the first time?

That means, just #157 to go.

Yes it should be too easy. Too is a degree of difficulty etc. Too hard, too soft, too fat,too thin etc. "To" is different. You go to work, to school, to the cinema etc.
Strange that neither of us saw the vital moves with the clubs when we played it before.

Thanks Larry. I was at the identical position loads of times without seeing the moves with the hearts. I sometimes think that you can play the same game number so often that you are making the moves automatically. The move with the hearts was not that tricky but I failed to spot it repeatedly. I'm kicking myself. I should have got that.

Richard, how much could you score with #306? I got 8 points. (#305 is unwinnable and i got 2 points and don't tell me, that you could win it.)

I am back from my little trip to an island in front of Estonia where Krista's father is living. To get internet access i have to go nearly a mile to a public Wifi (?) area in front of a building with my Laptop. The temperatures aren't so high to be there hours and it is an unsafe connection. I tried to solve the games we didn't win. The most frustrating one was #289, not, because i needed a lot of time, no, because i did it the first try and it was not difficult. I don't know, what i did wrong so that i couldn't solve it.

Ha! You may have had that news via the BBC. The first B is to stand for British, yet I watched the BBC for about 90 minutes this morning and failed to get any indication about how well/badly the Scottish Nationalists had done in the election. Their results were lumped together as "Other parties". It is little wonder that the people of Scotland are turning their backs on Great Britain. We are treated like second class citizens. Your observation that the Labour party had been defeated may be true for the U.K. as a whole, but in actual fact they increased their vote north of the border and the Conservative party have been given the Order of the Finger yet again by the people of Scotland. The Conservatives only managed to get one solitary seat in Scotland. They have no mandate to govern as far as we are concerned. They couldn't gain another seat if they offered free 8eer for a month............ maybe if the offer was for six months we could be persuaded......... until we sobered up at any rate.

As if things aren't bad enough, I have just been prescribed medication that warns that I should imbibe "absolutely no alcohol whatsoever".

I am certainly no expert on British politics, but as an observer, I have favored the Labour Party. I went to bed before I heard the final results, so I'll have to look into it more today. As for your last statement, that's the worst news I've heard all week (except maybe for the situation in Greece). I've never been a drinker, but I get worried when I even use mouthwash because I too can't drink any alcohol with my meds. What are you going to do now? As I get older, more and more things seem to be taken away from me; don't you feel the same way sometimes?

Don't worry yourself about UK politics Kathy. The general consensus is that we are just favouring one bunch of crooks and self serving ego-maniacs over another bunch that are probably almost as corrupt. Just as well I'm not cynical eh?
Greece is a big worry. They've blown all of their own cash and now they would rather riot than tighten their belts and try to put matters right. I anticipate more dominoes. Most of the problems the world is in at the moment originated in the USA. Goldman Sachs in particular has a lot to answer for.
As for alcohol, it's no big deal. I enjoy a drink but I can quite easily do without it for months on end. I miss the banter and the reparte that exists in pubz though.

I'm not going to go at it with you about Greece. You have the right to your opinion. But Greece has been having problems since I was in junior high school, leading up to the current crisis. And guess who has to bail them out? The good old USA whom everyone blames for the world's problems, but who are always the first ones to help out whenever help is needed.

Greece is to get 80 billion euros from the E.E.C. I don't think the USA will be involved at all. Nobody would object, but the Greek population appear to think they can carry on spending money they don't have and default on loans they have already received. They just want other hard pressed countries to subsidize them.
I'm not anti-American btw, far from it, but some of the biggest frauds in history have been perpetrated by big US companies. Your own citizens get as badly burned as anyone else.
Let's stop frying in Greece eh?

The US is the biggest contributor to the IMF (International Monetary Fund), who from what I understand will be responsible for bailing out Greece if it comes to that. What I don't understand is that the news people are saying that if Greece goes, so does Spain, Portugal and Ireland. Why those 3 countries especially?

Greece is in the Euro zone. The euro is dropping in value as a result of the riots etc. Their credit rating has plummeted because they owe a very high percentage of their total national income. Other countries like Spain and Portugal aren't far ahead of them, so if the euro drops it costs them more to repay their loans. The lower the euro drops the worse their plight is likely to be. Another global recession could be on the cards.

Well done with 336 Markus.

#344. It is one of those, Larry will tell us, that it was winnable, but we couldn't do it. I got stuck with 9 points, having several positions with 1 cell less of winning.

Most frustrating. I looks like it should be quite simple. I can get some good positions too, but can only equal your score. I'll try it again later.

Richard, could you make any achievement (?) with #344? I couldn't, but that says nothing, because i have two hard correcting days behind me. The problem was not the correction, but the first corrector. I was the second corrector who have to look, if the first correction is good and fair and if the points are given in a right way. I say so much: when i would have to do the first correction, it would have taken me "much less time" (?).
So, my thinking isn't free to play PGS in a successfully way. It is going me on the nerves if i have to do more work, because others didn't do there job properly. I think you know what i mean Richard, didn't you?

I've not achieved anything higher with #344 either Markus. I don't envy you having to re-correct someone else's work. Obviously you would have taken much less time if you had been the first one to do the job. No wonder you need a rest. PGS can wait. It will always be there when you need it.

That have been the final examination tests in maths and they have to be corrected twice. I am not the class teacher and that's why i had to do the second correction. Unfortunately.

Maybe my brain got to hot in one of the saunas, but #347 is strange. You can arrange a lot in different ways, but best score so far are 5 points.

I have to agree with your EASY. 8 minutes with the first attempt and 1.22 minutes with the solution. I was to fixed on the right side that i didn't see the easy way through the left side.

Our electricity has been off and on six times this morning. Someone must have dug up a power cable. Light flickering again. Another cut looks likely.

Perchance your neighbor is cutting your power cable since she is so mad that you got her fence to come down? I'd stay away from the window if I were you.
BTW, driving my folks back to Iowa starting today (and no, I didn't think the day would ever get here!), so I'll talk to you later!
